What happened
Tomas Kunzmann confirmed the agreement on 8 July 2026, after the plan first surfaced in November 2025. The work affected is call-centre customer enquiries and claims reporting, with roughly 80 to 100 of the roles in Germany. The agreement and the voluntary-programme structure make this a committed plan rather than a rumour.
Attribution and company response
Revenue held, staff cut. The published revenue comparison held or grew — €186.9bn total business volume in FY2025, up 3.9%. This clears the tracker’s revenue screen; it does not prove AI substitution, completed departures or the absence of financial pressure.

Sources & limits
Revenue is not profit. These figures may cover different periods and do not isolate the effects of AI. Median pay includes more than salary and can change with workforce composition; it does not track raises for the same employees.
What share of the cuts AI accounts for rather than other efficiency measures. This is a committed 12 to 18-month programme, not a completed reduction.
