2,000 roles cut in a two-year restructuring built around AI.

What happened

A February 2026 ASX announcement described a phased reduction of about 2,000 roles through fiscal 2027 as part of WiseTech’s AI transformation programme, with product, development and customer service initially targeted for reductions of up to 50%. CEO Zubin Appoo said AI-fuelled savings would ultimately cut through the entire company.

Attribution and company response

Revenue held, staff cut. The published revenue comparison held or grew — $1.396bn in FY2026, up 79%. This clears the tracker’s revenue screen; it does not prove AI substitution, completed departures or the absence of financial pressure.

Revenue is not profit. These figures may cover different periods and do not isolate the effects of AI. Median pay includes more than salary and can change with workforce composition; it does not track raises for the same employees.

This is a forward-looking plan running to FY2027, not completed cuts. Whether the promised savings materialise, and what happens to service quality, are both open.

Workforce and outcome context

FY2025 headcount rose from 3,494 to 3,638. Acquisitions and the later reduction programme require comparisons with a consistent scope.
